One-Time Volunteer Opportunities
Saint Louis University’s Center for Social Action promotes many forms of community engagement, from episodic service to more in-depth involvement. This list of one-time volunteer opportunities will help SLU students, faculty or staff make a difference based on your schedule and interests. Many are perfect for groups.
November
Bailey Youth Enrichment Foundation
What: Volunteers are needed for our Trivia Night and Silent Auction, helping with all aspects
                  of the event.
When: Anytime 4 p.m. - 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 1

Baden Neighborhood Community Garden
What: Volunteers are needed to spread wood chips on the walking paths between the raised
                  garden beds, and perform garden bed prep for winter. Perfect for small groups! All
                  tools provided.
When: Friday afternoons or Saturday mornings, now through November 23

College Church - Xavier Winter Inn Volunteer Training
What: Volunteers are needed for our Xavier Winter Inn, assisting with an emergency shelter
                  for unhoused individuals in St. Louis whenever the overnight temperature drops below
                  20 degrees. Help with setting up the shelter, serving meals, and general hospitality.
                  This is for the training session — volunteers are placed on a list to sign up for
                  shifts at any point during the winter as needed.
When: 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 6

St. Louis International Film Festival
What: Volunteers are needed for the annual St. Louis International Film Festival at Hi-Pointe
                  and other historic theaters around St. Louis. Assist with check-in, ushering, and
                  more. Food and T-shirt provided, as well as free access to all movies!
When: Any evening from Nov. 6 - 16.

City Garden Montessori School
What: Volunteers are needed for our Color Brave Series, a facilitated learning on identity,
                  equity, and empathy for our students and families. Volunteer roles include logistics
                  support, greeters, and communications.
